Welcome to Season Five!

Thanks to your support, in just four seasons, VOX has brought choral music in Houston to new heights! Season Five will expand to four concerts beginning in September with a tribute to the events of September 11, 2001 and featuring the music of Houston composer and former University of Houston Moores School faculty member, Robert Nelson. December will find us underneath the mistletoe with traditional motets and some not-so-traditional interpretations of the seasonal variety.  Concert three features a chamber setting of the medieval and mystical text, “Dark Night Of The Soul” by contemporary Norwegian composer, Ola Gjeilo, in addition to Randall Thompson’s beloved  “The Peaceable Kingdom.” Our season culminates in Houston’s first performance of Leonard Bernstein’s monumental “Mass” in conjunction with Houston Cecilia, Justin Smith, director.

Finally, I am thrilled to announce that VOX is set to produce its first CD, featuring the music of Dr. Robert Nelson! Your financial gifts make the music possible and will help underwrite the CD project.

See you at the concerts! Rob
