Welcome to Season Seven!

We are very excited as we embark on the seventh season of VOX, The Rob Seible Singers! We begin the season with The British Invasion. This concert is collaborative effort, featuring the Houston Boy Choir.  In addition to celebrating the 100th anniversary of the birth of composer  Benjamin Britten, we’ll be singing music of Rutter, Stopford, Parry, Holst, and Vaughan Williams.  The second half will be filled with “showstoppers” from the Beatles and Gilbert and Sullivan!

Next we bring you The American Spiritual.  Another collaborative effort, this time with the concert dancers from the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, will tell the story of American black and white spirituals, gospel and sacred harp,  through music and dance.  Composers include Charles Tindley, HT Burleigh, Hall Johnson, Edward Boatner, William Dawson, Tommy Dorsey, Moses Hogan, Jester Hairston, and Shaw/Parker.

Seulement Francais will be the final installment of the season. Major works for this concert are Durufle’s “Requiem” and Poulenc’s “Mass in G”.  Clayton Roberts, organist and accompanist for VOX will be featured, showcasing the pipe organ renovation at Bering Church.

We welcome you to each unique performance!
